Scholastic Learn at Home Research different topics (your child could also write an informational report about a topic)
*Read books that you have at home! Practice reading fluency (read like I talk) and comprehension. Have your child retell the details of the story that they read.
Have your child talk about the characters, setting, problem, and solution in the story too!
Ask questions like:
-What was the most important thing that happened in the story?
-Why do you think so?
-What do you think the author is trying to teach you?

Writing
Typing Club a website to practice typing
-Have your child keep a daily journal about what they've been doing while school is closed. Have them use the format we used with our personal narrative writing: first______ next______ etc.
-Write a letter to a family member or friend
-Find a penpal
-Write me an email and I'll respond
-research an animal or another topic and write an informational report
