"Practice Makes Progress"
Reading Log:
Reading with your child is the most important way you can support their learning this year. Each night your child will come home with 1-2 books that they have selected themselves, from a book bin that I have assigned. It is their responsibility to choose a new book, that they haven't selected before. They should read this book two times to help with fluency, and then do an oral retell to help with comprehension. Please fill out the reading log each night (or have your child fill it out), and initial the page so I know it has been completed. Please mark if the book was too easy, just right, or challenging.

Homework Packet:
Every Monday your child will come home with a packet that contains a mix of word work and math. It will vary in length depending on complexity of the homework pages and if they are single sided or double sided. Please return the completed packet every Friday. I will not check homework packets until Friday, so please make sure that the packet stays until then, even if your child has finished it early.
